Summer Movie Season kicks off this weekend, May 1, 2009. This summer definitely has some potential box office blockbusters, break out stars, and great entertainment! Be sure to check back from time to time for more summer movie release dates, but for now…check out my highlights of what’s coming out in May.
Right off the bat, the summer movie season kicks off with the highly anticipated X-Men Origins: Wolverine which has the potential to be a box office blockbuster. The X-Men franchise has had success in the past with the first weekend of May so let’s see if good fortune can shine upon the X-Men franchise a 4th time.
J.J. Abrams directs the latest big screen adaptation of Star Trek. I think J.J.’s work is great, and in my book Alias is one of his best works…although he has been more recognized for Lost. In my opinion, if you like an artist you should recognize and follow their work. So normally…Star Trek would not be on my radar, but since J.J. is behind the camera – I just might have to take a look.
The rest of May is full of sequels including: Angels & Demons, Terminator Salvation, and Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian. For the family…Disney and Pixar present: Up (in 3D).
