As we ring in the New Year, we enter a new decade! So what movies can we expect in the first month of the New Year? Vampires, Romance, and the Supernatural…oh my! If those movie themes do not appeal to you, there are plenty of other films being released this month. Daybreakers, The Book of Eli, and Legion have been promoted the most in my opinion. All three take place in the future and humanity has to be saved in some way.
Family films of the month include Jackie Chan’s The Spy Next Door, Extraordinary Measures, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the Tooth Fairy. The rom com movies of the month are Leap Year starring Academy Award nominee Amy Adams and When in Rome starring Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel.
My spotlight pick of the month is Creation, which is based on the biography,“Annie’s Box”, written by Charles Darwin’s great great-grandson.. The film stars Paul Bettany as Charles Darwin and Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly (“A Beautiful Mind”).
