Vodpod videos no longer available.

Here’s the first trailer for “One for the Money” starring Katherine Heigl as the New Jersey bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, based on the books by Janet Evanovich.

So what do you think? I think Sherri Shepard and Debbie Reynolds work as Lula and Grandma Mazur. As for the rest of the cast, well…what can we say? The movie has already been made…the time to change the cast has come and went. Click here to check out the movie poster and other info. related to “One for the Money”.

The “New Girl” is In!

Image via Fox.com

Paired with Golden Globe Award winning show Glee as the lead-in on Tuesdays, I believe “New Girl” will have the potential to be a real hit!  Currently the pilot/preview episode is available on iTunes for free (download it while you can) as well as streaming on Fox.com.

Zooey Deschanel (“(500) Days of Summer”) couldn’t be a better casting choice for the title character Jess. She really brings the character of Jess to life and what we get is quirky, a bit awkward, and pretty much the “girl next door” type making “geek” into something cool and even chic.

What’s the premise?
Jess (Zooey Deschanel), a teacher who recently has broken up with her boyfriend moves in with three guys that she met on the Internet each with their own idiosyncrasies. They are Nick (Jake M. Johnson, “No Strings Attached”), Schmidt (Max Greenfield, “Veronica Mars“), and Coach (Damon Wayans, Jr., “Happy Endings”) .

The role of Coach will be replaced by a character named Winston (Lamorne Morris), a basketball player that was subletting his room to Coach while he played basketball overseas. Wayans, Jr. had to leave the show due to the unexpected pick-up of ABC’s Happy Endings, which he currently is a regular cast member of. I’m curious how the dynamic of the roommates will be once Winston is introduced as I thought the character of Coach was quite funny.

I’m not sure what kind of audience this show will have, I imagine those who tune into Glee will continue to watch New Girl. The humor is a bit silly but yet it works. With all of promos and clips out there, Jess’s biggest quirk is that she sings to herself a lot. Some may think it is corny, but I think it is weaved into the show well that it doesn’t seem so odd (at least in TV land). Then again, who doesn’t hum or sing to themselves once in a while?

The New Girl premieres tonight, September 20, 2011, click on the link below to find out the rundown of the pilot episode.

Is “Ringer” a winner?

Cast of "Ringer" - Image via The CW

The series premiere for Ringer aired on September 13, 2011, on The CW.  This marks the return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to prime time television.  Gellar probably most known for the popular television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which originally aired on the WB before The CW took over the network.

My first impression of Ringer was that it was warped and twisted in the sense that the plot twists were many but yet it left me intrigued.  Many twists were presented in the series premiere it leaves you to question if there are going to be answers or too many questions that will be left unanswered?

What’s the premise?
Sarah Michelle Gellar plays twin sisters Siohban Martin and Bridget Kelly. Bridget is a recovering addict while Siohban has a picturesque life – rich, beautiful home(s), husband, a perfect life…or is it? Click on the link below to get the rundown of the series premiere of Ringer.

Evanescence – “What You Want” Music Video

Video Source: Vevo.com

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I am so excited to hear new music by Evanescence! “What You Want” is the first single off of Evanescence’s self titled new album which is due to be released on October 11, 2011.

It’s been almost 5 years since they released their last album. Their new single has a different feel almost 80’s pop meets Rock but I look forward to hearing the rest of the album. Spin.com has even listed Evanescence’s new album as one of their “26 Fall Albums That Matter Most“.

Thoughts on the new single by Evanescence? Like it, Hate it? Share your thoughts in the Comments section below?

“One For The Money” Movie Poster

One For the Money PosterSource: Hollywood Reporter

Check out the new movie poster from The Hollywood Reporter for “One For the Money” starring Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter from New Jersey. The movie is based on the book series by Janet Evanovich.  For information about the other castings, click here for more details.

“One For The Money” is due out in theaters on January 27, 2012. The film was suppose to be released in Summer 2011, but I guess it was pushed back due to the competitive summer movie season. Or was it? Fans of the Stephanie Plum series, including myself, have been very vocal about the casting choices made for the film, regardless I still think this will draw fans of the series to the theaters. Will this movie be a hit or a big flop? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!

Fall Movie Season: September 2011

filmreel

The Summer has flown by and now it’s time for the Fall Movie Season. This is kind of a laid back month for movies. There are star studded films but none that I foresee to be a box office blockbuster. “Contagion” opens the first weekend after Labor Day, which has an all-star cast including some Academy Award winners and nominees. The premise takes our fears about air born diseases and pumps up the scare factor to the max.

Following week we have “Drive” starring Ryan Gosling, which is reminiscent of “The Transporter”. Toward the end of the month are the films that may bring in the crowds. Jason Statham (“The Transporter”) along with Clive Owen (“Closer”), Chuck‘s Yvonne Strahovski, and Academy Award Winner Robert De Niro star in “Killer Elite”, which looks like it’s going to be a high-octane action flick. Brad Pitt stars in “Moneyball”, based on Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane and how he put together a baseball club on a budget. This film could be interesting or a flop.

Chris Evans (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) and Anna Faris (“Scary Movie”) star in “What’s Your Number?”, based on the novel, “20 Times a Lady”, by Karyn Bosnak. Looks like it could be funny but at the same time it could end up being predictable. It’s all in the story-telling.

My spotlight pick of the month are “50/50”. Seth Rogan (“Knocked Up”) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“(500) Days of Summer”) star in “50/50”, which looks funny but yet poignant. It could be a possible tear jerker.

Well that’s my September overview, click on the link below to check out the rest of the movies coming out this month and check back next month for more Fall Movie Season picks and if you’ve seen any of the films from this month…leave some feedback/suggestions in the Comments section on what to see.

Eddie Murphy will host the 84th Annual Academy Awards

Eddie Murphy at Tribeca Film Festival 2010

Image via Wikipedia

Source: Entertainment Weekly

It’s official!  The rumors were swirling when Eddie Murphy’s name was put forth to host the 2012 Academy Awards.  Now it’s a done deal!  The 83rd Annual Academy Award show attempted to draw in a younger audience with the selection of Anne Hathaway and James Franco as last year’s hosts.  In my opinion, last year’s award show was a bit of a snooze but on paper it sounded like a good idea.  With the selection of Murphy as host, again on paper it sounds like a great idea.  Let’s see if it works out, if anything it will generate a lot of buzz.
