“Legend of the Seeker” alum, Bridget Regan, has been cast in a new NBC pilot titled “The Frontier”. Here’s a description via TV Line:
The drama is described as an intense tale of survival in which a group of disparate travelers in the early 1800s embark on an incredible cross-country adventure through the west where danger stalks them at every turn.
Also joining the cast are Ethan Embry (“Sweet Home Alabama”) and Jake McLaughlin (“Crash” – TV Series).

Craig Horner (“Legend of the Seeker”) is headed back to The CW in a new pilot. According to TV Line, Horner will be playing Joey Dakota, a rock star who died too young in the 1990’s. While filming a documentary about the rock star, a young female filmmaker (Amber Stevens, “Greek”) travels back in time and after a turn of events tries to prevent his death from happening. Scott Wolf (“Party of Five”) is also attached to the project as well.
The series sounds a bit like a cross between “Somewhere in Time” and “Back to the Future Part III”.

How time does fly! It’s already the Spring Movie Season. Certainly there are films this month that are potential movie blockbusters. Films such as “The Matrix” and Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” brought record box office numbers recorded for the month of March. A lot of hype is behind some of the films being released this month…curious to see if they live up to the hype or if they fall short. Opening the month is Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax”, which features the voice talents of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift, and Danny DeVito. Eddie Murphy becomes a silent film star in “A Thousand Words”. Murphy’s character has to keep quiet or face the consequences.
Disney presents “John Carter”, which looks like Gladiator meets Planet of the Apes on the planet Mars. There have been pretty good reviews on the film so it may be worth checking out. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill star in “21 Jump Street”, which is an adaptation of the popular late 80’s to early 90’s TV series, which starred Johnny Depp.
Toward the end of the month, the sequel to Clash of the Titans, titled “Wrath of the Titans” is released. Most of cast including Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson return as well as some new cast members. Julia Roberts stars as the evil queen in “Mirror Mirror”, which is one of films this year that is based on Snow White. This summer, Snow White and the Huntsman, promises to be a twist on the classic fairytale.
My spotlight picks of the month are the much anticipated screen adaptation of “The Hunger Games” and from the Academy Award winning writer of Slumdog Millionaire, “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen”, starring Ewan McGregor (“Moulin Rouge!”) and Emily Blunt (“The Young Victoria”). Both films look intriguing in their own ways.
Well that’s my March overview, click on the link below to check out the rest of the movies coming out this month and check back next month for more Spring Movie Season picks and if you’ve seen any of the films from this month…leave some feedback/suggestions in the Comments section on what to see.
