Smallville Season 9: “Kandor”

Twenty years before Krypton was destroyed, Zod and his platoon were fighting on the battlefield as blood samples were being taken from the soldiers just when Kandor was destroyed. This is the memory that Zod retells to his platoon as he describes how Jor-El has betrayed them as he believes that Jor-El is the Red Blue Blur and flaunts around his powers while Zod and his platoon are left powerless.

Smallville Season 9: “Crossfire”

A picture is worth a thousand words and no…your eyes do not deceive you. If you seen the promo for “Crossfire”, this is an episode that certainly delivers on what it infers. Lois tries out for a morning show with Clark and Clark agrees as he is trying to get on Lois’s good side so that he can ask her out again. The audition doesn’t go too well but the producer notices something in how Lois and Clark interact while the camera wasn’t rolling and she asks both of them to come back to do the show as a team. While out on the town, Oliver (Justin Hartley) tries to help a young street girl, Mia aka Speedy (guest star Elise Gatien), who he has seen fight and offers to train her. Meanwhile Chloe tries to hack into Tess’s system in order to find the Kandorians.

The woman sets up a classic 3 cup game and asks Oliver to choose a cup. Underneath the cup is a red pill and Oliver has a bit of a Matrix moment where he can choose not to play or take the red pill and continue the game. He chooses to take the red pill and things start to get hazy and when Oliver wakes up, he realizes he has stepped into a dangerous game and must fight for his life.

Meanwhile, as part of Jor-El’s training, Clark (Tom Welling) has been temporarily granted the power of hearing people’s thoughts. Will Clark use his new found power for the good of the people or for his personal gain?

Smallville Season 9: “Rabid”

“Smallville” meets “Supernatural” is how I describe “Rabid” which is the third episode of the season. Lois and Clark fighting against zombies? It kind of reminds me of the first season of “Smallville” where Clark would have to face a new meteor “freak” every episode, “freak of the week” if you will. I must say, I was expecting a little more from this episode because the “Rabid” promo implied that Lois and Clark would go on a date, but sadly that did not happen. However, the episode further explored the Lois/Clark/Red Blue Blur love triangle that is still unfolding while Oliver Queen and Major Zod have returned in this episode as well.
