“The Blind Side” – Review

The Blind Side - Image via Filmofilia.com

“The Blind Side” is based on the true story of NFL star, Michael Oher, of the Baltimore Ravens.   Once homeless and abandoned, Oher was taken in by the Tuohy family who helped Oher live to his full potential. Sandra Bullock plays Leigh Anne Tuohy, the matriarch of the family, and in my opinion this was one of Bullock’s best performances to date. Her performance in this film is already getting some Oscar Buzz as well as a Golden Globe nomination. This role is really unlike anything Bullock has ever done in the past. Bullock has always been a great comedic actress, but this role really has shown another side to Bullock’s acting chops. Bullock’s portrayal of Mrs. Tuohy had such a great quiet strength that really transcended the screen which was really relatable. Watch the trailer here.

Check out the trailer for “The Blind Side” starring Sandra Bullock (“The Proposal”). “The Blind Side” is based on a true story and is set to hit theaters on November 20, 2009.

Here is a synopsis of the movie via IMDB.com:
A poor, oversized and under-educated teenager is recruited by a major college football program where he is groomed into an athletically and academically successful NFL prospect. Based on Michael Lewis‘ book, “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game”.

It looks like it’s going to be an inspirational and heart-warming movie. I think we need tissues for this one.
